We just happened upon this jewel of a campground as we were on our way to Alabama in November 2018. It is not far from Monroe, LA. The scenery surrounding this campground is stunning! The lake is beautiful, the sites are clean and level. There are hiking trails, fishing, boating, a tennis court, and disc golf. For the kiddos, there is a very nice playground.
Lake D’Arbonne State Park is a 655-acre park designed to blend with nature and enhance the outdoor experience. There are 65 campsites. Each has a paved RV pad, a tent pad, picnic table, fire ring, and a grill. Our site had 50 amp hook=up and water. We had no problem with phone reception and used our Verizon Mini Wifi. The campground is laid out very nicely, allowing most views of the lake. Those sites not on the lake were nestled in among trees, and there are lots of big beautiful trees. Even though there were many campers there, it was very serene and peaceful. The view of the lake from our RV was stunning and sitting out at sunset and night was amazing.
I did check out the bathrooms. Clean and well maintained. There are showers and a laundry. Great place to spend a few days. Explore the surrounding areas. Lots of beautiful scenery.
I highly recommend Lake D’Arbonne State Park if you are traveling that direction. I hope to go back and explore the area more and do some fishing. Here is a link for more information.
