Located near Fort Cobb, Fort Cobb State Park is one of our favorite southwest Oklahoma destinations. The park has it all, great campsites, fishing, golf with pro shop, water sports, marina, nature center, swimming, and a unique feature, a rent-a-yurt.
It has not only got amazing views of the lake, but there
At night, you can relax by the lake with a campfire or go to Sunset Bay Marina. The marina has a small convenience store with snacks and drinks. It also has boat slips and watercraft rentals. It is a great place to have a hamburger and friendly conversation with fellow campers.
The park is sandwiched between the towns of Binger and Fort Cobb. Both towns are pretty small, but they do have stores including Dollar General at Fort Cobb. We found everything we forgot to bring for camping. Don’t we always forget something?
What was my favorite part of staying at Fort Cobb State Park? We parked right by the lake. The sunsets were amazing as they set on the horizon of the lake. Ducks swam up close, squirrels leaned down from a limb and peeked in our window at our dog, Oreo.
After the sunset, we built a campfire and set by it relishing the warmth and relaxing glow.
DreamDuffer and I plan out the next day, usually golf. The only sounds were the faint chatter of campers, the occasional outburst of laughter and children giggling. To me, those were perfect sounds of a perfect end to the day.
Playing golf on the amazing golf course with DreamDuffer and our fur baby, Oreo Cookie. Yes, she goes with us and loves riding in the golf cart. She is pretty good at helping to find lost golf balls too.

An interesting little place near Fort Cobb is Nowhere, OK. The man and his family that settled here possess a great sense of humor. Here is a little bit about the little seetlemnt of Nowhere Oklahoma.
Nowhere is an unincorporated community in Caddo County, Oklahoma. How did Nowhere, OK start?
It all started when a couple from California moved out to the area and the wife complained to the husband that he had brought her out in the middle of nowhere. And the name stuck!
